Meet Cammie, a VLA disability law attorney

Cammie is a member of the team that helps protect the rights of Vermonters with disabilities like Mohamed.

Mohamed is a young adult who had a guardian, but he wanted to decide for himself where he lived and worked, and to make other life decisions.

We helped Mohamed understand his rights and the alternatives to guardianship. We brought him together with service providers and family. After a few meetings, we wrote a Supported Decision Making plan and took it to court.

The judge found Mohamed could be his own guardian with help from his supporters and his plan.
