LITC Volunteer Attorney

Vermont Legal Aid’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic is seeking an in-house volunteer attorney to represent low-income taxpayers. The clinic provides free legal help to needy taxpayers who have controversies with the IRS including audits, collections, liens, and innocent spouse issues. This is a great opportunity to serve low-income people in a dynamic social justice organization, and to learn tax law.

We encourage applicants from a broad range of backgrounds, and welcome information about how your experience can contribute to serving our diverse client communities. Applicants are encouraged to share in their cover letter how they can further our goals of social justice and individual rights. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to a discrimination-and-harassment-free workplace. Please read our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: https://www.vtlegalaid.org/about-vla/diversity-inclusion

For more details, questions or to apply email cover letter and resume to Sandra Paritz, VLA Poverty Law Project Director, spartiz@vtlegalaid.org. Applications accepted through March 15, 2024.
